Preparation
- In a medium bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and baking powder. If using, add a pinch of salt.
- Create a well in the center and pour in the cottage cheese. Mix until a chunky dough forms.
- Turn the dough out onto a well-floured surface and knead for about 1-2 minutes until semi-smooth.
- Divide the dough into four equal portions and roll each into a log, then connect the ends to form bagels.
- Whisk the egg with a splash of water or milk and brush this over each bagel. Add your choice of toppings.
Cooking
- Preheat your air fryer to 300°F. Line or spray the basket with cooking spray.
- Place bagels in the air fryer, cooking in batches if necessary. Cook for about 15-17 minutes, checking around the 10-minute mark.
- Once golden brown and fluffy, remove from the air fryer and let cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing.
