Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic; sauté until they turn translucent.
- Add the ground beef, salt, pepper, and paprika to the skillet. Cook until the beef is browned.
Assembly
- In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes at the bottom.
- Pour half of the cooked ground beef mixture over the potatoes, then sprinkle half of the cheese on top.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, the rest of the ground beef, and finish with the last half of the cheese.
- Pour the beef broth over the entire dish, ensuring moisture so the potatoes cook through.
Baking
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is golden and the potatoes are tender.
- Allow it to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding a layer of sautéed mushrooms or bell peppers. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days in the refrigerator or freeze for 2-3 months.
