Ingredients
  

For the filling
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella) Both work wonderfully!
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg For the filling
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • to taste Salt and pepper
For the pastry
  • 1 package puff pastry (or pizza dough)
  • 1 egg for egg wash

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until they’re translucent and fragrant.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, sautéed onion and garlic, breadcrumbs, cheese, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  4. On a floured surface, roll out the puff pastry until thin.
  5. Place the beef mixture in the center of the pastry and shape it into a log.
  6. Wrap the pastry around the beef and seal the edges tightly.
  7. Brush the top with beaten egg.
Baking
  1. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and the beef is cooked through.
  2. Allow it to cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

Serve with a fresh salad or steamed vegetables for a well-rounded meal. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for 3 months.
