Preparation
- Start by placing the beef chuck roast at the bottom of your crockpot.
- Layer the sliced onion and minced garlic directly over the meat.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the beef broth, water, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Pour this mixture over the beef.
Cooking
- Cover the crockpot and set to low, cooking for 8 to 10 hours until the meat is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
Assembly
- Once done, shred the beef using two forks and stir it with the juices to soak up the flavor.
- Serve the shredded beef on hoagie rolls, adding provolone cheese if desired.
- Don’t forget the au jus! Serve it in small bowls for dipping alongside the sandwiches.
