Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare a 9x5-inch loaf pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas using a fork until smooth.
- Stir in the melted butter until well mixed.
- Add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until combined.
- Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over your mixture and stir gently.
- Add the flour, mixing just until it disappears; be careful not to overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it out evenly.
Baking
- Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding chopped nuts or chocolate chips. The banana bread is best enjoyed warm with butter or cream cheese.
