Ingredients

For the marinade
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce Can substitute with gluten-free soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon honey Can substitute with maple syrup for a vegan option
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
For the salmon
  • 4 pieces salmon fillets Fresh or frozen can be used

Method

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the olive oil, soy sauce, lemon juice, minced garlic, honey, oregano, salt, and pepper until well blended.
  2. Place the salmon fillets into a resealable bag or shallow dish, then pour the marinade over the top.
  3. Seal the bag or cover the dish tightly, and refrigerate for 30 minutes to up to 1 hour to let the flavors meld beautifully.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, and lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.
  2. Remove the salmon from the marinade and grill for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
  3. Serve immediately and delight in each bite!

Notes

For a delightful presentation, serve grilled salmon on a bed of fresh salad greens, accompanied by grilled vegetables or roasted potatoes. Pair it with a light white wine or sparkling water infused with lemon. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days or frozen for up to three months.
