Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Pat the chicken breasts dry and season both sides generously with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1–2 minutes.
- Reduce the heat to low. Stir in the heavy cream or cream cheese until smooth.
- Whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce is creamy. Remove the skillet from the heat.
- Place the seasoned chicken breasts in a baking dish. Pour the garlic-Parmesan sauce over the top.
Cooking
- Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes or until an instant-read thermometer reads 165°F (74°C).
- Allow the chicken to rest for 5 minutes, then garnish with parsley or basil before serving.
Notes
For the best flavor, take your time when making the garlic sauce. Use fresh herbs for added flavor. Adjust seasonings to your preference. You can add spinach, artichoke hearts, or replace chicken with vegetables for a twist.
