  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 3-4 cloves garlic, freshly minced or replace with 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3 tablespoons butter or olive oil
  • 1 cup heavy cream or 4 oz cream cheese
  • 1 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
  • to taste fresh parsley or basil, chopped for garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Pat dry the chicken breasts, then season them with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  3. In a skillet, melt the butter and sauté the minced garlic until it becomes fragrant.
  4. Reduce the heat, and mix in the heavy cream or cream cheese until it’s smooth.
  5. Whisk in the grated Parmesan until it’s creamy and well combined.
  6. Place the seasoned chicken in a baking dish, then pour the sauce over the top.
  7. Bake uncovered for about 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  8. Once done, allow to rest for 5 minutes, garnish with parsley or basil, and serve it hot!

Notes

For an extra layer of flavor, consider marinating the chicken in Italian seasoning or lemon juice a few hours before cooking. This dish can also be customized with additional ingredients like spinach or sun-dried tomatoes.
