  • 1 pound baby potatoes You can also use Yukon gold or fingerling potatoes.
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil Can be substituted with olive oil for a lighter taste.
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds For garnish.
  • to taste optional green onions For garnish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Wash the baby potatoes and place them in a pot.
  2. Add the water, soy sauce, sugar, minced garlic, and sesame oil to the pot.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then lower the heat to a simmer.
  4. Cover and let it cook for about 20 minutes until the potatoes are tender.
  5. Uncover the pot and allow the sauce to thicken for a few minutes while stirring occasionally.
  6. Once the sauce clings to the potatoes, take it off the heat.
  7. Sprinkle sesame seeds over the top and add chopped green onions for optional garnish.
  8. Serve the dish warm.

Notes

For variety, consider adding diced carrots or bell peppers for extra color and nutrition. This dish can be marinated for a few hours before serving to enhance the flavor.
