Preparation
- Wash the baby potatoes thoroughly and place them in a pot.
- Pour in the water, soy sauce, sugar, minced garlic, and sesame oil.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to a simmer.
Cooking
- Cover the pot and let it cook for about 20 minutes, or until the potatoes become tender.
- Uncover the pot and allow the sauce to thicken for a few minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Once the sauce beautifully clings to the potatoes, remove the pot from heat.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds on top and add chopped green onions for a pop of color and flavor.
- Serve warm, either as a side dish or a standalone treat.
Notes
Korean Braised Potatoes can be served warm as a side dish alongside grilled meats or plated on a bed of steamed rice. Leftovers should cool completely before storing in an airtight container. They can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
