Preparation
- Slice the beef and chicken into bite-sized pieces.
- In a bowl, mix together the cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
- Sprinkle this spice mixture over the meat, tossing to ensure it’s coated. Allow it to marinate for about 15 minutes.
Cooking
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat, adding a splash of olive oil.
- Once the oil is hot, add the marinated beef and cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned. Remove the beef and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add a bit more olive oil and toss in the chopped onions, minced garlic, and sliced bell peppers. Sauté for about 5 minutes until the veggies are soft.
- Add the chicken pieces to the skillet, cooking until there’s no pink remaining inside.
- Incorporate the beef back into the skillet, mixing everything together for about 2 minutes.
- Finish with freshly chopped cilantro and remove from heat.
Serving
- Serve the warm mixture with corn tortillas, allowing everyone to build their own personalized taco.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days or freeze for longer storage. For best texture and flavor, warm the corn tortillas just before serving.
