- In a large pot, combine the water, vinegar, salt, peppercorns, garlic, and bay leaf. Bring everything to a boil.
- While waiting, peel the onions and gently place them into the boiling water.
- Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 30 minutes, until the onions are tender and easily pierced with a fork.
- Carefully remove the onions from the pot and allow them to cool slightly.
- Serve the onions warm, topped with a generous pat of butter, and savor each bite!
Notes
Leftover Onion Boil can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. To reheat, simply microwave or warm on the stovetop with a splash of water.
