Preparation
- Prepare the salmon. If using fresh salmon, cook it through, then flake it into small pieces. For canned salmon, simply drain it well.
- In a large bowl, combine the flaked salmon, breadcrumbs, chopped green onions, egg, Dijon mustard, and lemon juice. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then stir until everything is well incorporated.
- Form the mixture into small, round patties, ensuring you press them slightly to hold together.
- In a frying pan, pour in enough oil to cover the bottom and heat over medium heat.
- Carefully add the salmon patties to the pan, frying them for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they turn a lovely golden brown and are cooked through.
- Serve and enjoy! These salmon patties can be enjoyed on their own, in sliders, or with a squeeze of fresh lemon.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze the uncooked patties in a freezer-safe container with parchment paper between them. They'll last for about 3 months. Cook them straight from the freezer, adding a couple of extra minutes to the cooking time.
