Ingredients

For the Marinade
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar Light or dark brown works great
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce Low-sodium or gluten-free tamari optional
  • 1 tbsp Butter Melted for richness
  • 1/4 cup Honey Maple syrup can be used as a substitute
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder Fresh garlic can enhance the flavor
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper Freshly ground for the best taste
  • 1 tsp Paprika Optional, for a bit of color
For the Salmon
  • 4 pieces Salmon Fillets Choose fillets of similar thickness for even cooking
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Parsley Chopped; dried parsley is a handy substitute

Method

Preparation
  1. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, soy sauce, melted butter, honey, garlic powder, black pepper, and paprika. Stir until well mixed.
  2. Place your salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring they are well-coated. Let them marinate for about 10 minutes.
Cooking
  1. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add a splash of oil if your pan isn’t non-stick.
  2. When the pan is hot, add the salmon fillets skin-side down. Cook for 4-5 minutes, then flip and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes until cooked through and the edges appear crispy.
  3. Remove from heat and sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

For better cooking, let salmon sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes before cooking. A splash of lemon juice just before serving can elevate the flavors. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, and can be frozen for up to three months.
