Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare a sheet of foil, placing the salmon skin-side down with the longer edge parallel to your sheet pan.
- Create a ‘boat’ by raising the edges of the foil to hold the buttery mixture.
- Nestle lemon slices underneath the salmon, spreading them evenly around the fillet.
- Melt the butter in a microwave-safe measuring cup for about 1 minute.
Cooking
- Combine the melted butter with lemon juice, honey, and minced garlic. Pour three-quarters of this mixture over the salmon and reserve the rest.
- Season the salmon with kosher salt and black pepper.
- Seal the foil tightly, possibly adding an extra sheet for a better seal.
- If you have time, marinate the salmon for 10 to 15 minutes for even more flavor.
- Place the foil packet on a baking sheet and bake for about 17 minutes.
- Remove the top piece of foil carefully to expose the salmon.
- Set your oven to High Broil.
- Spoon the reserved buttery mixture over the exposed salmon if desired, then broil for 5 to 10 minutes or until it turns golden brown.
- Garnish with fresh parsley, if using, and serve immediately.
Notes
For best results, use fresh ingredients and check for doneness by ensuring the salmon flakes easily with a fork. You can assemble the foil packets ahead of time and refrigerate them until you’re ready to bake.
