Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 6 medium Granny Smith apples (Honeycrisp work well too)
  • 6 sturdy sticks or decorative straws
  • 16 oz white chocolate (melting wafers or candy coating)
  • ½ cup crushed golden Oreos or vanilla wafers
  • ½ cup freeze-dried strawberries, crushed
  • 2 tbsp butter cookies or graham crackers, crushed (optional)
  • Red candy melts (for drizzle)
  • Fresh strawberries, chopped (for topping)

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by thoroughly washing and drying the apples. Insert the sticks into the tops.
  2. In a food processor, pulse together the golden Oreos, freeze-dried strawberries, and the optional graham crackers until you have a crumb mixture.
  3. Melt the white chocolate in the microwave or a double boiler until smooth.
Assembly
  1. Dip each apple into the melted chocolate, letting the excess drip back into the bowl.
  2. Roll the bottom half of each apple in the crumb mixture, ensuring a good coating.
  3. Melt the red candy melts and drizzle them over the coated apples for a festive touch.
  4. Top with chopped fresh strawberries to elevate the flavor and appearance.
  5. Allow the coating to set at room temperature, or refrigerate for about 20-30 minutes before serving.

Notes

Store candy apples in an airtight container at room temperature or refrigerate them for a day in advance. Avoid freezing as the chocolate and toppings may not retain their texture. Always handle food safely to avoid spoilage.
